Color Collection ~ Teal = freebie mask and overlay

Ahoy there! Today's new goodies will be coming from the newest release in my shop COLOR COLLECTION ~ TEAL
A nice ocean/beach-y themed kit, and to start it off, I have made for you a mask with an overlay :) woo hoo!

For those who are not used to using these, you just simply place your photo over top of the black mask, merge it down onto the mask, then drop the overlay onto the top, I know the steps are the same pretty much in all programs, I use Photoshop, for me, I just use CTRL+ALT+G and it merges my photo onto the mask, just make sure you are on the photo layer when you do it

LAYER 1 MASK

LAYER 2 WOULD BE YOUR PHOTO MERGED DOWN
LAYER 3 OVERLAY

FINISHED PRODUCT

When you are happy with what you have created, remember to save it as PNG file :)

You can do so much with masks, they are a ton of fun to play with and use, I tend to use them if I want a photo inserted on a page and I am not so pleased with the excess of the photo, or occasionally there are people/objects in the background of a photo that I wish to eliminate

Here it is, I overlaid other scrolls and items on the page to give it some movement, you can do soo much with masks and layering, I hope you try it out!

Today's freebies will be the MASK & OVERLAY

This new kit COLOR COLLECTION ~ TEAL is in the Etsy shop as well as others, the links to the shop and the link to the free for server use kits are on the right sidebar where they always hang out :)

Irish Eyes Freebie Mask & Overlay

Today I am going to talk a little about masks and how you can use them with overlays, I have created the one above in 2 parts, of course the mask, then the overlay. You just clip your photo down over the mask and then lay your overlay over top of the photo layer.

Start with your mask, choose whatever mask you have, this one is in Irish Eyes kit so I am using it today, I also have a mask in the kit of the outline of Ireland :) How cool is that?

For today's example, I will be using another cluster created by Susan for the mask overlay, but you are only limited by your imagination how you wish to add an overlay above your masks.

I will be giving you the mask and overlay away as freebies today, if you make something cool with them, drop me a line at lbasiletti@gmail.com and show them off, I will even post them on the blog for everyone to see :)

There are many ways to use your masks, I threw this one together just as an example, here I am using the outline of Ireland mask for the photo that is in the Irish Eyes kit.

Ok folks, that was fun, stop back soon to see what other goodies I will be giving away from the newest kits. Don't forget to stop over and grab the free for server use kits and check out my Etsy shop, links to the right on the sidebar ~ Have a wonderful week!
